The story of 'The Hello Bench' hails from Milan, Italy and began in 2017. The protagonist of the story is one of the most favorite brands of people across the world- Nescafé. The story focuses on the idea of coming together and celebrating new relationships over a cup of coffee, which plays yet another chief role in the story.
The bench had an unexpected way to please people and break the ice in order to start a new conversation and feel the joy of 'starting something new'. The idea of getting two strangers together to make this world a smaller and more friendly place was extremely beautiful and a well executed ambient advertising campaign.
On the contrary, if we give a thought to the changes that have come in all of us, we would get surprised by our own deeds and actions. We have come across a lot of platforms and mediums that allow us to make this world smaller (figuratively) by interacting with the ones who are miles away from us. In the midst of making this world an intimate gathering, have we forgotten the ones who are right next to us?
The need to bring them closer and empowering the already existing bonds and relationships in every dimension and dynamic has somewhere lost its sight.

Nescafe says, "It all starts with a Nescafe". The idea of togetherness and beginning has always been favored by it. But when we take a step out of the dreamy lane, reality hits us. Building new relationships is harder than one can think. Each and everyone of us is surrounded by million others and yet initiating something new and getting the right vibe feels difficult. There are millions of questions that strike our mind and trillions of conclusions that we draw without even making an effort. The situation sometimes makes us want to stay in our comfort zones without experiencing the joy and spark of interacting with a stranger or the person next to us for the first time.
However, this story did make an effort. The efforts involved three main ingredients which made the people of Milan feel vivid and happy. A red mug-with coffee, a spark and an opportunity. The red bench, that shines brightly up there has a unique quality of getting short. When two people sit on the red bench, two sensors get activated and the bench shrinks in size and brings them closer to each other. The ability of the bench to make people feel the connection brought a strange wave of happiness, confusion and ecstasy.
